Description:

Waves of Health is a nonprofit medical outreach organization founded in 2007. Waves of Health has two missions. The first is to support the primary health care needs of underserved communities in the developing world. The second is to educate others about the medical challenges in the developing world. At the moment, we are accomplishing those goals through our main undertaking, which is to improve the health of residents within the greater Dajabón area, located in the Northwest region of Dominican Republic. An interdisciplinary team travels to this region twice a year and establishes a treatment center where patients are triaged, medically evaluated, provided any medications necessary to manage an acute or chronic illness, and counseled about the medications dispensed along with general health information.
