Description:
Tree 4 Hope is a non-profit organization committed to providing a bright future of long-term hope for children, elders, and their families in Guatemala and around the world, focusing on education, health, and mental wellness. We design our projects to meet basic needs, empower local communities, build relationships, promote cultural exchange, and inspire youth.
Tree 4 Hope offers two to four service trips to Guatemala every year. We need children, teens, college students, professionals, retirees and everyone in between to travel to Guatemala and work with Hogar Miguel Magone, Hogar Maria Auxiliadora, the Elder Center, and La Limonada. We need YOU! Everyone can make an impact! We have found ways to incorporate a wide variety of skills and talents into our service work, including kung fu and ballet.
Some particularly useful skills include:
• English as Second Language (ESL) teaching
• Spanish-speaking ability
• Medical training (doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists, etc.)
• Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or other construction expertise
• Willing hands and hearts!
You do not need to speak Spanish, and age doesn’t matter! We have had kids as young as 4 and adults older than 80 serve on a Tree 4 Hope team trip.
Other Programs: Construction, ESL Teaching, Sexual Abuse Prevention Workshops, Initiative to start Girl School (Hope Academy)
