Description:

Open Eyes involves Christians like you in short-term mission efforts. We approach each mission team as unique, and actually design each experience for maximum impact in the lives of people, both those involved in serving in the short-term mission project and the people of Central America.

We are blessed to partner with many people for short-term missions. Most have never ventured outside the U.S. for a mission project. Some are very experienced in missions work. Open Eyes is recognized for providing the ministry opportunity of a lifetime for those that partner with us.
Open Eyes' desire is to not only to help you change Central America but see God use your visit to strengthen and equip you to change lives through ministries and churches back in the U.S.

Our approach to evangelism is best describe as "committed." Open Eyes believes in using all means available to us from God, and that the sharing of the Gospel must be our number one priority.

Medical ministries

Open Eyes sponsors medical ministries in a wide variety of areas. Visiting team members routinely include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, ophthalmologist, optometrist, EMTs, paramedics, and others. When a medical team expresses interest in visiting Central America to provide free medical services as a form of ministry, Open Eyes schedules the event with local authorities in the area and makes sure all of the needed facilities will be made available. Open Eyes also advertises the event in advance so that it will be well attended. We work with the team well in advance to make sure we are prepared on both ends. Our staff also accompany the teams during their visit, assist them, provide translators, transportation, housing, food, and other logistics, as well as prayer support and local tours as time allows. Much is involved in conducting a first-class medical missions trip and Open Eyes has the experience and expertise to do it right. Terry and Arlene DuPont both have backgrounds in the medical profession and thoroughly enjoy seeing dedicated professionals volunteer their time and energy to help touch the lives of the less fortunate.
