Description:
Christ the King parish supports two missions to Honduras. The first
smaller group is in late January and our medical mission is in June. It is
important that you understand the differences in these 2 trips before you
apply.
The JANUARY mission focuses on education, evangelization and
construction. This trip is limited to 20 to 30 missionaries who stay at Casa
Alemania, a small hotel located on the beach in Trujillo. This mission
team is composed of:
a physician and nurse who work with our chronic patient program
a specialty physician to work with the Trujillo Hospital staff
teachers for the school ministry
sewing team for 3 village programs
construction workers
evangelization: our priest and assistant
This mission does not provide medical care to the villages, however, we do follow-up with our chronic patients at the local clinics.
The JUNE mission is our large medical mission with 90 to 100 missionaries staying at the Christopher Columbus Hotel in Trujillo.
Medically we operate 3 village clinics, an eye clinic, and dental clinic. The hospital team holds clinics and our operating room team performs around 50 surgeries. Our school team and hearing team work in our
schools and the construction team works on projects at our schools and churches. Evangelization is provided by our bilingual priest and missionaries in partnership with local delegados at all clinic sites. There
are many support positions available for non-medical missionaries.
Missionaries are selected based on their experience and skills related to
the needs of the mission. There is a job for everyone!
