Rooted in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, the mission of Hôpital Sacré Coeur is to be both a Catholic hospital and medical center, providing quality healthcare to the sick and the poor in the Haitian community, and an educational center for all who serve healthcare in Haiti.

Hôpital Sacré Coeur is a full Service, tertiary care medical center and official Haitian referral center. Located in the North region, the hospital serves all of Haiti with advanced specialty treatment.

CRUDEM remains committed to improving the quality of healthcare in Haiti through ongoing medical education.

The Medical Education Committee was formed in late 2010 to oversee the creation of a formal education program at Hôpital Sacré Coeur. In 2011, a series of week-long symposia were held in the areas of internal medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, OB-GYN and life support. Instructors included both American and Haitian faculty who volunteered their time and expertise. Attendees included Haitian healthcare providers from Hôpital Sacré Coeur and throughout Haiti.
