Description:

Four times a year, Faith Medical Missions takes a medical team into some of the poorest areas of the world, setting up a temporary medical clinic in a new location each day. The team provides hope and healing to the patients’ physical needs so they can see to each individual’s spiritual needs.

At each location the ministry sets up a temporary general medicine clinic, eye clinic, dental clinic and a fully-stocked pharmacy. All care, medicine and eye glasses are given away at no charge. While the team treats people at the clinic site, the evangelism team goes into the village to share Jesus with the community. When the evangelism team find someone who needs care but is unable to make it to the clinic, a medical person will go to them.

People without any medical background are just as important to the teams as doctors, nurses and dentists. They fill critical roles in the eye clinic, dental clinic, pharmacy and on the evangelism team. Training is provided.
Mission trips to locations in Central and South America are typically nine days. Missions to Cambodia, Thailand and Romania are 12 to 14 days to account for the additional time required for traveling. The cost of the trip is usually between $1500 and $2000 plus the cost of airfare. The cost covers everything a team member will need: airfare, lodging, meals, transportation, and interpreters.
