Description:

Our mission is to care for physical ailments and to go beyond the stethoscope to minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of the indigenous Mayan people in the mountainous Quiché's province of the Central Highlands of Guatemala. We accomplish this by medical ministry outreach in rural villages and by supporting hospitals, clinics and missionary partners.

Agape's doctors run 24 rotating clinics a month up to 3 hours away from Quiché. Every clinic has a pastor or community leader contact that we work with to set up these mobile clinics in churches, community buildings, and schools. With the help of their two clinic asistants, Agape's doctors see an average of 50 patients a day. All clinics begin with The Gospel message and our doctors and volunteers are always available to pray with our patients and family members.

Patients are diagnosed and often wait months for the arrival of the mission teams. Many travel from remote villages and endure a long and arduous journey to the Santa Cruz del Quiché government hospital.

Agape in Action hosts medical, surgical and dental teams from the U.S. who unselfishly volunteer their time and expertise to serve with us in Quiché. If you are interested in planing a mission trip, please contact us.
